James Otto

I am a principal statistician at Alcon where I work to develop Bayesian models for clinical applications, solutions for scalable clinical trial reporting, and enterprise-level infrastructure for the use and development of open source software.

Outside of my work at Alcon I develop and maintain several R packages, including:

  • ggdensity (bivariate density visualization with highest density regions),
  • ggtda (visualizations of tools from topological data analysis), and
  • tldrPages (short form package documentation via the R console).

I hold a Ph.D. in Statistics from Baylor University and an MS in Statistics, as well as undergraduate degrees in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, and Management of Information Systems.
